ABOUT THE ART
The 1958 German Grand Prix was held at the mythical Nordschleife. The race was marked by the tragic death of talented brit racing driver Peter Collins in his Ferrari. However, the image that became famous was of his team-mate Wolfgang Von-Trips tackling the Karussell in his Dino 246 pictured. That exact moment inspired this t-shirt exclusively illustrated by graphic artist Susana Real for MotorBest.
Von-Trips descended from a noble family, he himself being a Count. He was a true gentleman driver that became famous by his fearless ten-tenths style that often resulted in spectacular crashes earning him the nickname “Von-Crash”
Unfortunately, one of those crashes would put an end to his life at the 1961 Italian Grand Prix.
