Fireweed ~ Mid-Summerby Alaskan Momma Bear
Our Biker Tank, made exclusively for Society6, is an edgier take on the traditional Muscle Tank. It's crafted using extremely soft 100% combed jersey cotton with deep arm openings and raw cut edges. The Biker Tank is a boyfriend fit, intended to hang loose - women may wish to select one size smaller for a more fitted wear.
ABOUT THE ART
A digital photograph of the fireweed flower, (Epilobium angustifolium), that grows wild throughout Alaska, USA. The Provincial Flower for Canada's Yukon Territory is the fireweed.
*[The fireweed is a perennial herb and can be found growing in open meadows, in areas recently cleared of vegetation by wild fires and along river-beds and roadsides. Before the plant blooms, fireweed shoots can be harvested for food. They are a good source of vitamin C and vitamin A. Young stems of the fireweed plant can be eaten raw or in salads. Young undamaged blossoms are great in salads too. Freshly picked bright pink blossoms of the flower can add color and a mild flavor to your dish.
Alaskans say that summer has started when the blossoms lowest on the stem bloom and that summer's end is in sight when the blossoms reach the top of the stalk.]*
