This flying whale was made as a collaboration between my son and I. He created the line art and I made the graphic and colored it. Eventually I'd like to get him a t-shirt with this graphic on it, in the mean time, half of all profit goes to him.

"Swimming is so boring," thought no whale in particular one cloudy day.

A glimmer of light twinkled above him, so he raced to the surface only to see the clouds close around the last vestiges of sunlight for the day. It was clear a storm was coming and this was the third day in a row. He was starved for some sunlight.

As he turned to descend into the depths of the dark cold water a thought struck him. He exclaimed defiantly, "I wish I could fly!"

He saw a glimmer again but when he investigated found it was a tiny fairy flitting about just above the surface of the water. He asked the fairy, "who are you?"

"I'm the maker of wishes. I heard your wish and would like to make it true. Close your eyes and think of feathers and bubble wrap," said the fairy.

The whale closed his eyes as tight as he could and thought of feathers, but wasn't sure what bubble wrap was. Before he could ask, he was floating. He was flying. Elated, he flew straight up into the clouds, bursting through to see the sun shining brightly in the blue sky.
