2 winters ago I was lucky enough to spend a few months watching & photographing a juvenile female snowy owl, I had made friends with the landowner whom allowed me to visit their property whenever I wished, in exchange I would cook for the landowner as well as give them prints. I got to watch her yawn, preen, hunt and do many things that owls do. One particular frigid day in February I had seen/heard her do something new, she was screeching, claiming her territory. I knew this meant there was another snowy owl near by but I could not find it. Out of nowhere she leaped up and off her mound of ice/snow/rocks and flew directly towards me above me. My heart was beating so fast as I didn't know whether to drop my camera or brave it and click as many photos as possible. This day was heaven, just me and the owl.
Owls heal me better than any medication or meditation♥
