I took this shot along the pier in Seattle, facing West Seattle. This one got me thinking in that I know we all do this, but here was this lady who was busy on her phone while there was this amazing scenery in the background. How many times have I done that?
Maybe this person is sending a text message to someone she knows that she wishes was there, or maybe she is just looking at social messaging applications? Who knows? At what point do we put things down and enjoy what is around us? I find myself now on a computer doing things that avoid real life and wonder to myself what else I could be doing?
Tomorrow I am going to get up early, head north into southern Washington, and examine the area east of Mount Saint Helens.
This is living in the gray world when there is color and beauty, grime and dirt all around us that is there to be enjoyed. Nothing at all against this woman, just a reflection on our lives and where we are within our own worlds.
