Metal Travel Mug

Miss Virginia

Talk about steely good looks. In addition to a 360-degree wraparound design, our metal travel mugs are crafted with lightweight stainless steel - so they're pretty much indestructible. Plus, they're double-walled to keep drinks hot (or cold), fit in almost any size cup holder and are easy to clean.

The 50 Babes Project is a new series capturing beautiful babes (men & women) from each state. It is my love letter to the vintage postcards we all know and love.

Each piece portrays elements of the state and illustrates important facts or anecdotes that make that state unique.

Miss Virginia, Kayla Schmandt, is a VA native. The state was named after Queen Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen. This monicker was given to her because she was unmarried and a cult surrounded her virginity. She granted Walter Raleigh a charter to stake a colony north of Spanish Florida, most of that coast was originally referred to as Virginia. Kayla smokes a cigarette for VA's major cash crop, tobacco. The famous slogan you have seen on shirts and bumper stickers "Virginia is for Lovers" is on a pin that sits in her hair with the state flower and bird, dogwood blossom and cardinal, protruding from her Elizabethan updo. The corset and Elizabethan collar reinforce the Virgin Queen's presence. While the navy blue ribbon in her hair and blaze orange background hint at a more modern element of VA, the Cavaliers of UVA. Kayla also sports a gold earring in the shape of the Pentagon.
