Off The Map pays tribute to the London Underground’s disused stations. To commemorate 150 years of the Tube, ten original artworks bring to life their history and their secrets, allowing people to discover the stories behind the Underground’s forgotten stations.

City Road (1901 - 1922)
Closed in 1922 when the City & South London Railway underwent expansion works to widen its tunnels, City Road never reopened. It was later used as an air raid shelter during WWII.

Today, the original staircase at the end of its now disused platform can still be seen (briefly) on a passing Northern Line train between Angel and Old Street.
