ABOUT THE ART
for my brother's 34th year, I am making and mailing him a postcard every week. I am calling this exercise "project 52." Inspiration for the postcards in project 52 come from my daily life. Sometimes they feature studies for paintings I'm working on, sometimes they depict scenes from my kitchen or bits of poetry that I've enjoyed recently. I'll continue to make some of the postcards available here.
Last week's multimedia (paint, ink, collage) creation is a little experimentation, playing with ideas I want to incorporate into an upcoming painting, referencing Wallace Stevens' poem, Sunday Morning: "... her desire for June and evening, tipped/ By the consummation of the swallow’s wings."
