About this artwork
Tree Rings grow in varied thickness based on water intake per year, fun fact. A good year's ring will be light and thick, while a bad year's will be thin and dark. I used this information to create a series of pieces that show a human being life story, tree ring style. The thicker rings being a person's good years, the thinner being a person's bad years. I believe this to be an incredibly potent metaphor because, even though there are inevitably bad years, we still grow from them, and there will always be good years to follow.
