About this artwork
"The Way to Eden," considered by many to be the worst original series Trek episode of all time, is one of my absolute favorites. Crooning space hippies locked in a search for the fabled planet "Eden," hopelessly idealistic cosmic total cuties, an insane-but-brilliant doctor based on Dr. Timothy Leary, funky pseudo-psychedelia, totally repeatable hipster slang terms, Spock jamming on some strange Vulcan blend of a harp, zither and a theremin... Allow me to repeat... SPOCK JAMMING... What's not to like?
For this series, I imagined what recruitment posters might look like for the "movement" led by Dr. Sevrin -- the search for Eden. The posters feature prominent characters from the group and some of the awesome kitsch ideas from their philosophy. No "Herbert" here. Join the search, brothers and sisters, we can find it.
