About this artwork
Hi! "The End" work is from my "Sublime" series. A “Sublime” work is a depiction of terrifying or haunting beauty. I'm referencing Schopenhauer's definition of “The Sublime” in this series. “ Sublime – Turbulent Nature. (Pleasure from perceiving objects that threaten to hurt or destroy observer).” It's best to understand the connection between the work and this definition by imagining walking easily and then suddenly having the depicted image appear before you. Definition from Schopenhauer's, “ The World as Will and Representation”,§ 39.
