This was prompted by a recent front page article in the NZ Herald discussing the likelihood of volcanic events in Auckland in the not-too-distant future (geologically speaking), and reporting on recent scientific predictions about what form they might take. Cheer up boaties – it appears scientists consider a marine eruption more likely than an eruption on land (Auckland's narrow isthmus already has 53 volcanic outlets).
