The Monk and the Bicycle - Zen Tale

A Zen teacher saw five of his little disciples returning from shopping, riding their bikes.
When they arrived at the monastery and dropped their bikes, the teacher asked the students:

"Why do you walk with your bikes?"

The first pupil said: "The bike carries, for me, the potato sacks. I'm glad not to have to carry them on my back! "

The teacher praised the first student: "You are a very smart boy! When you grow up you will not walk curved as I walk. "

The second pupil said: "I love seeing the trees and the fields where step!"

The master commended the second student: "His eyes are open and you see the side right the world."

The third disciple said: "When I pedal my bike I'm happy and full of energy."

The master commended the third student: "Your mind will expand with the softness of a wheel centered."

The fourth disciple said: "Pedaling my bike i live in harmony with all beings."

The teacher was pleased and said to the fourth student: "You follows on the golden path of goodness."

The fifth student said: "I ride my bike by pedaling."

The teacher sat at the feet of the fifth student and said: "I am your disciple."
