In the mid 1990's it was the dawn of the digital photography age. Seeing where it was all headed I chose to abandon the usual photographic imagery and instead, interpret my visions by using bold, saturated colors, found objects, reflective materials and sensuous shapes. It was an effort to come as close to the look of digitally manipulated images without actually resorting to computer trickery. What at first glance may look like a painting or a photoshop construction is instead thoroughly photographic event; a carefully crafted scene shot using slide film and reproduced through traditional photographic processes. Now, in the second decade of the thoroughly digitally entrenched 21st century, this remains my mission ever more.
