Ryan Minnigan (b. 1993, Nashville, Tennessee) studied at Belmont University's College of Art in Nashville, Tennessee. Since he was a small child, he exhibited a passion and talent for artistic expression in drawing, painting, sculpture, dance, and words. His expression represents his passion for life, it's ups and downs, the strength of the human spirit, his faith in God, and his questions and answers about life itself. The maturity of his art, and the media which he chooses, showcase his talent and his emotion " in the moment.”
"I strive to communicate and examine a moment in time. To recall a memory, and inspire a movement in stillness.
My inspiration derives from growing up in the south; surrounded by music, the motion of the city and the rustic feel of the countryside. When I begin a painting I often have an idea or reference to work from, with little idea of what the final outcome will be. I believe that the painting has always existed and it my job to find it and pull it our of the canvas. I work very spontaneously, and my strokes are very energetic, also reflected in my use of color. Each piece is always being tested. New techniques are always being developed pushing the series further and reaching the full potential of beauty."
