Collaborate on Society6

You may notice a few things around here are a bit different. Like all of you we are constantly reworking and looking for ways to improve what we do. So...we've made some adjustments to what you know as our 'Grants'. They've been renamed Collaborations and are accessed under the Collaborate link on the header. These collaborations combine the capability of grants & opportunities with what we have also been hearing from you all through your posts, but in a streamlined and simplified manner. Keep a close eye on this page as new Collaborations are posted and feel free to hit us up with any questions.

Agree
NOSUCHTHING commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 11:49am
nice! you guys should mos def rework the shop to so it can be organized and not only posts (just a suggestion)
you guys are the best :)
Charles Clary commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 11:49am
This makes since. Gonna get some taking used too but I like it!
Justin Wills commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 12:01pm
Thanks! Interested to hear your specific thoughts on the Shop. What do you think we could do to improve it?
Pedro M. C. Fernandes commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 1:31pm
While we're at it... The filters on top are kind of hidden... I know it makes diagrammatic sense, but it simply looks too unnoticeable, IMO. Should the "products" filter migrate next to the "posts/members/endorsements" column?
Justin Wills commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 2:43pm
Thanks for the feedback Pedro. So i can understand your suggestion better... Currently we have a button called "Store" under "posts/members/endorsements" which goes to the same page as the "products" filter. Are you suggesting we change the name of the "Store" button to Products? thx

NOSUCHTHING commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 5:27pm
it would be awesome if we can reorganize our shops and have
like a gallery thumbnail view of the products and not just posts
then people would be able to see all of your prints that are on sale
Justin Wills commented on Saturday, October 31, 2009 5:52pm
similar to the view in our main Shop? http://www.society6.com/shop but on your Studio level?
Pedro M. C. Fernandes commented on Sunday, November 1, 2009 3:47am
Damn! Oh sorry! Forget my previous feedback... wasn't paying attention because i DONT have products yet.
Anyway, Nosuchthing suggestion is pretty good. Yes, like the link you posted Justin.
Pedro M. C. Fernandes commented on Sunday, November 1, 2009 3:55am
And then we could link the shop from our websites...
Jesse Draxler commented on Sunday, November 1, 2009 8:00pm
i think something similar to the main shop would work for our personal stores...i have the shop linked on my website already, but i do think that having thumbnails instead of posts for the store would be a much better look...more like a shop.
Lloyd Winter commented on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 9:55am
I like collaborate better.

I miss grants! :(

Agree with the rework of the shop too... the site is kind of changing what it is a bit and need to address that. Change in a good way though.
Justin Wills commented on Thursday, November 5, 2009 10:10am
it's really important to us to get this feedback so,thanks everyone! we are taking all this into consideration as we keep improving.
NOSUCHTHING commented on Thursday, November 5, 2009 12:13pm
yes sir! just like the main shop :) that would be awesome
uberkraaft commented on Friday, November 6, 2009 5:06am
Hello.

I think it would be valuable to have a photo of an actual print somewhere on the site to give some indication of the quality people can expect - it'll make them more likely to buy.

Obviously we can't add value to our prints by signing them but is there any way we could limit the print run?
carleyrae weber commented on Friday, November 6, 2009 12:13pm
nice call. i like collaborations.
Justin Cooper commented on Friday, November 6, 2009 2:41pm
hey uberkraaft, YES, you can limit the print run. All you have to do is specify in the Post itself that this particular Print will only be available for a set period of time (i.e. for the month of November) and then when that time expires, you can disable that Post from being for sale as a Print by simply editing the Post.
Scott Hassell commented on Friday, November 6, 2009 5:10pm
i think limiting the print run could be a great way to incentivize people to buy them but you run into the problem of authenticating that. You could arrange it so that everyone that wanted to could have their print sent to you first to be signed and numbered.

It would be interesting if this option could be set up and monitored by society6 though to ensure people didn't abuse it. All it would take would be printing out a numbered certificate of authenticity and a paid shipping label with the customers address to be sent with the print to the artist for signing and numbering.
Lloyd Winter commented on Friday, November 6, 2009 9:11pm
Yeah, I just signed two prints today, but I didn't number them. I am so used to limited edition screenprints. It felt a little weird, but the prints were totally exceptional quality.
Jesse Draxler commented on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 9:18am
diggin' the new personal shop look...thanks!
