Introducing Dark Colored T-shirts and White Ink Printing

After much anticipation, we can now print full color on dark garments using a white ink underbase. This means 20 color options for your T-shirts and Hoodies including dark colors like black, slate and lieutenant green!

To activate any or all of the new color options you will need to prepare your artwork as PNG files with a transparent background. JPEGs are still accepted if you only want to offer a selection of lighter garment colors with no white ink underbase and keep a more vintage feel to the print.

Learn more about preparing your T-shirt files here: http://society6.com/help/tshirts

To upgrade your existing T-shirt posts to include our full range of colors, just go to that product page and click "ADD T-SHIRTS & MORE". Once on the additional products page, scroll down to the T-Shirts & Hoodies asset (Click "REMOVE THIS ARTWORK" if you have already uploaded a file here) and upload a new PNG file. Select your T-shirt and Hoody colors, check your product previews and you're all set. Due to additional labor and materials, the white underbase PNG option retails for a few bucks more than the JPG version.

Happy Posting!

Huge improvement! Although it would be even better if you could still offer the heather (athletic) colors as well. Thoughts?
Cosmic Nuggets commented on Thursday, June 21, 2012 3:25pm
so good.. thanks!! i think this makes a mega difference!.. next stop is multiple file options for different color ways of the same graphic, instead of numerous posts of essentially the same design :) hehe... thanks again S6.. rock on

YESS!!!! ♥♥♥ thank you so much guys :D

Glad to hear it! Brandon, due to the fabric mix of Athletic Tees and Hoodies they don't yet work with the white ink process. We're looking into it though and once we get it figured out we will enable those as well.
Eric Fan commented on Thursday, June 21, 2012 4:11pm
It would be nice if we could choose a specific colour to have as the primary display on the t-shirts instead of it randomly cycling the different colour options. That way we could pick a colour we thought was most suitable for the design while still retaining the options.
MSTRPLN® commented on Thursday, June 21, 2012 4:44pm
Totally agree. Not having an option to select a specific color shirt for the presentation is the only thing truly lacking with the process. People could be off-put due to the cycling of shirt colors.

I just discovered that you can select which tee colours your design will be available on simply by checking or un-checking the little boxes next to each colour!! I know you mentioned it in the post Justin, but somehow I missed this rad new feature.

This degree of customization is incredibly useful and cool, also takes care of the concern that Eric mentioned. Thank you so much S6 team!

Please add 3X, RedBubble.com has 3X, Society6.com should too, I hate Redbubble.com and love Society6.com but I wish Society6.com had the same selections for sizes and styles.

Note: I recently deleted my RedBubble.com account because of how bad service was with them.

I do love the fact that we got dark colored shirts and the ability to print white ink.
I do want to say thank you for that.
Billy Allison commented on Sunday, July 1, 2012 4:16am
this is so nice, I've been waiting to add my designs as shirts as pretty much all of them work only on darker or coloured shirts and only one or two work on white/pale colours ... one thing though, being able to turn off the light colours when you add one is good, but sometimes they still get previewed on light ones

thanks for adding this feature!
Jessica Jimerson commented on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 4:14am
Love this option. Why? Because I love dark tee shirts! Do I need another reason? :)

Thanks again, Soc6!
Just one question:Is it possible to print a gradient? So the image fades out into transparency, or does it have to be a hard edge?
Diego Verhagen commented on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 2:33pm

It would also be nice to have a light color jpg option along with a dark color png option, instead of one or the other.
Justin Wills commented on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 3:16pm
png activates all the colors.
