New Artist Collaboration Available: No. 26 A to Z Typography Zine

What's up Society6?

Anthony Troester here (the new kid). I made the move from Cedar City, UT to LA back in May to join the team as a Graphic Designer. I'm a sucker for type work and everyone has been hounding me to get a collab going - so here we go!

We are putting the call out to all S6 artists to collaborate on a new zine titled No. 26.

THE CONCEPT

Incredible variations in type have been influencing how people react to and experience language for as long as we know. From the days of quilled ink documents sparking a revolution to the constant chatter on social media during the latest political debate, type is language and language is critical to making things happen in this world. We want to celebrate that.

THE DETAILS

The zine will include 26 artists and each artist will be assigned one of the 26 letters in the English alphabet. A thru Z.

All artists are welcome to apply and we look forward to combing through applicants!

Some details to help you navigate this collaboration:

1.Must apply by no later than November 13th to be eligible for consideration. Please click the apply button only if you will contribute work if selected.

2.We consider all applicants, so please be confident you will be able to contribute if selected.

3.If you are selected, you will be required to create a piece of art for one of the letters (your letter will be assigned to you).

4.You are not required to create new artwork to be eligible, but we will encourage the 26 artists that are ultimately selected to make new art. Completed art will be due no later than January 15th. Please be able to commit to that timeline before applying.

5.You will be notified via email for inclusion in this limited edition zine.

Can't wait to see all your portfolios!

Question, I clicked apply but only gives me thank you for applying. Will examine the work on my Society6 page or am I missing something or is the place to submit addtional pieces?
Ben Renschen commented on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 7:58am
Hey @Rachel - it's as simple as that! The S6 team will review your work on S6 as a starting point following the cutoff for submissions. :)

Apart from the exposure of the zine, is there any sort of compensation/incentive for artists who are ultimately selected to participate?

Sorry I probably missed this but are the selected Artists creating a new piece of art based off a theme from the letter given or are they creating an illustration of that letter itself?
