Royalty Update: Increase Your Profit on Canvas Prints and Metal Prints!

One of the many exciting upgrades to come along with the new Artist Studio is the extension of flexible royalties for our Wall Art products. Since the launch of Art Prints, you've been able to set your own profit margin on top of a base price, where non-Art Print products allowed a fixed percentage.

We are constantly reviewing opportunities for our artists, including updates to royalties, and we are thrilled to announce that, moving forward you will be able to set your own royalties for Framed Prints, Stretched Canvas Prints and new Metal Prints (enabled very soon) as well!

The new Artist Studio and the royalties update will provide even more opportunity for our artist community - the lifeblood of Society6. Additionally, we will continue to evaluate the underlying Society6 business model and the community's interests, to ensure they are in support of one another at every turn.

Products you have not set custom royalties for will automatically be configured to pay the same percentage they have since their launch. You can change the royalty through each of the product's edit functions as desired, and we look forward to adding bulk edit tools to adjust elements like this much more efficiently, in future updates.

How do we increase royalties for existing works though? I need a way to edit my current artworks' prices, not just the new ones. Most of my successful pieces are 2 years old now and re-uploading is out of the question, since a lot of pages are linking to these artworks already. Thx!

@Eugenia Loli - You just need to head over to the new management system which you can access here: https://society6.com/studio/art/manage

You'll be able to access the new edit pages from their for all of your products. Some enhancements on the way, that'll make this process easier, is bulk edits and better search/filters features on the art management page - all of which are in the works.

You should also be able to simply click the 'Edit' link at the top of any product page to access the new manager. But it may be routing to the classic uploader, which we'll get sorted out.

In the meantime, the system should get you covered on at least your most desired works.

I have the same problem as Texnotropio, along with disappearing comments and promotes. I assume that's just a problem due the transition from the old system to the new and will be fixed in time.

But the feature to manage each individual product is a welcome addition

The only way to promote new products if they don't show up in the storefront, is from manage my posts -> view enabled products...

One more thing: I wish there was royalty editing for tapestries too. A lot of people opt for those instead of an art print, so they're definitely competing as products, and we only make $4-$7 on tapestries. Plz consider adding these to the list too. They are wall art after all.

Thank you so much! The price discrepancy between what I have been asking for canvas prints through the art consultants I work with and what was listed on S6 has been an issue for me for a long time. I kept looking for a way to work this out on my end, and had already stopped promoting my store, erased the links from my website, and deleted most of my posts because of it. I've been with Society6 since 2010 and have always been impressed with the quality of the prints, the speed of order fulfillment, and the excellent customer service, which is why I was so reluctant to let go of the platform completely. This change makes all the difference to me, and I look forward to promoting Society6 as my preferred print on demand source again.

Exciting news Rory! Love the modern look of the new uploader, even had a chance to test it out.. Same thing happened where the art posted didnt show up. Unfortunately, will have to stick to the old ways until the bugs are worked out

Rory, there is a bug on the royalties. I changed the prices on the top-20 or so of my artworks, but the prices were RESET a few hours later to their defaults!!! This has happened twice so far, so I know it's reproducible.

I, too, made a try with the new system and liked its flexibility, but experienced the same problems previously mentioned. Posting from the new system last night showed me the new price options, and it showed me the base photo, but it did did not garner any promos during the night at all (since I now follow thousands, the first posting usually gathers a few promos while I am adding the various product options). I have tried editing what was posted with the new system last night with the old system this morning. The old system showed null values for pricing and accepted new values, apparently accepted reloading of the acceptable product files, apparently published -- but now nothing shows up in the store. I will hunt a bit with the manager function next. Does the new system effectively publish? Does looking at material again through the old system distort or obliterate the work of the new system?

@Eugenia Loli - are you switching between new artist studio and the classic uploader? There will definitely be some disconnects, and potential overwrites if so. If not, I'll make sure this is checked out asap. I haven't heard of other reports nor did we see this in our own tests.

@Rory Wood - No, I don't switch between the two. I just used the new ones, and changed prices in canvas, and framed prints in a few selected prints. The changes appeared instantly. But a few hours later, the price had changed back to the old defaults.

My new upload with the new system isn't showing either. I think for now, I will wait until all of the kinks are worked out and the bulk price change features are in place. I have plenty of hot selling work to promote. I really appreciate all of the new features as for so long S6 was way behind every other site out there. Soon I will be able to tell fellow artists who ask where is a good place to sell that S6 is great. But I am waiting for all of the features to come. I hope it is well before the Holidays! Thanks S6.

still having some pricing issues on my shop page. The prices show up correctly once you click on an image, but the main page still shows incorrect pricing. Do love the uploader over all though. Makes adding new images much more easily and adding the images to different products is much more streamlined. But please fix the pricing conundrum and everything will be perfect:)

Aloha . . please give us a bulk edit tool . . the new upload tool/system has mysteriously eliminated virtually all my tags . . plus the prices are all over the place . . and . I'm having to go through my entire portfolio one image at a time . . one by one by one is taking forever! We need a bulk edit tool so that we can set our prices ONCE and it will apply throughout our entire gallery . .

And then once that's all straightened out when we upload and publish a new image those pricing fields will auto fill . . please help us with this . the current system having to input pricing for every product each and every time is far too tedious and time consuming . . at this rate it's going to take over a week to update my entire gallery . thanks so much . .
