Painter of colorful florals, cats & abstracts. www.pamelagatens.com Happy, loose paintings. Email: pamelagatens@frontier.com https://www.dailypaintworks.com/artists/pamela-gatens-2504/artwork https://www.facebook.com/pamela.gatens https://www.pinterest.com/pamelagatens/pins/ I began working in graphic arts while in high school, and enjoyed graphic design and typography as a career until moving to West Virginia in 2002. There I joined Greenbrier Artists at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg in 2004 and began working in acrylic and watercolor. I am a member of The American Impressionist Society and a Signature Member of the West Virginia Watercolor Society, and am represented by The Greenbrier Hotel & Resort at The Carleton Varney Gift Gallery. I have a line of cat and floral cards taken from my many acrylic and watercolor paintings that are sold at The Greenbrier in The Carleton Varney Gift Gallery. I paint nearly every day. To me, the beginning abstract structure of a painting is the most exciting part. No other activity gives me the fulfillment that painting does. I focus on brushwork, looseness and layering in order to express my love of color. Recently I have begun creating textile and surface pattern designs from my watercolor paintings using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe PhotoShop. My concentration has been on floral patterns featuring lots of layers and vivid color.
