Luna Kirsche is the artistic name of Maria, a Portuguese communication designer and illustrator with a career that began in 2008. Deeply connected to Asian cultures, she grew up in a family environment influenced by Chinese and Macanese heritage, which sparked her fascination with symbolism, mythology, and traditional painting. Since 2024, she has been collaborating with the Museu do Oriente and the Macau Museum as a workshop leader, guiding sessions in Japanese and Korean calligraphy, Chinese painting, and narrative illustration using a Chinese brush. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the ongoing study of Eastern techniques, comparative mythology, and visual arts, while also exploring queer and feminine themes.
