High color in all mediums to me is a direct reflection of my years in the music business. It has truly been the road to Oz heavily populated with so many colorful people, souls and events. I began to create with colored pencils when caring for my mother in her final years. Many hours of waiting in hospitals and doctors offices facilitated the beginning of my artistic thought processes. I carried colored pencils and sketchpads with me everywhere and doodled on anything available during phone calls at a part-time job in a recording studio. I was enthralled by the exoticism of cats and drawn to fish by my deep-rooted love for the sight of water. Visual creation takes me so far away from the stresses and pressures of music and allows my “troubles to melt like lemon dropsâ€. While in pursuit of my artistic wizard through the years, I have worked out the things in my life that delivered grief, helplessness and healing. It has been my relentless pursuit of sunshine through all cloudy days. I began to market my work by selling little greeting cards in local stores and selling my gourd sculptures in fairs, exhibits and any opportunity that presented itself. My art is a wild ride down into the deepest parts of my mind where there are no boundaries. I can visually, emotionally, and manually get revenge for anything in my life that is out of my control. I thank God daily for this medicine that can’t be prescribed here on earth and gives me my own personal piece of heavenly “Oz"
