Sarah Beth Baca is a painter, illustrator, author, and entrepreneur who tackles complicated social and spiritual issues in a lighthearted, hopeful way. She specializes in 2-dimensional watercolor and mixed media works that are narrative in nature, welcoming viewers into stories that have been meaningful in her own life. Although she’s dealing with weighty matters, her images come across as visibly light and airy. Her illustrative pieces contain a rambunctious energy that tends to dance off the page and into one’s heart. Her intricate line work delivers an abundance of decorative patterns, while bold color and layers of texture draw the viewer’s eye into Baca’s world—a world where everything has been made right. Baca received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from Houston Christian University in 2001. Her work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions ever since.
