My name is Dale Boyce and DazzetteMarie is named after my Boston Terrier, Daisy. I have been in the design field for 30+ years and love creating new products, using graphics I have purchased and am licensed to use.

I am a freelance illustrator living in Portland, OR. I work in natural media like watercolor & pen and ink. I love to create work about food and the environment, and am a hobby naturalist. I love to create patterns, maps, and other illustrated educational materials, such as illustrated timelines, and illustrated recipes. I grew up in eastern Montana, but I studied art and art history at the University of Minnesota, as well as Florence, Italy, where I regularly hung out with THE David, and drew. I graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene, where I received a bachelor of fine arts degree (in printmaking) in 2010. When not painting, some of my favorite things to do are: boulder, hang out with my sweet blind greyhound dog, and read (before I was an illustrator, I was a freelance arts journalist for years). Hi! I'm an artist & surface designer. Seamless patterns, funny, cute and vintage designs with or without sayings will primarily appear under Julia Frank brand. Vector illustrations and patterns are created in Adobe Illustrator. To digitize hand-drawn element, I use a Wacom drawing tablet. Photoshop is used to give special effects to some of my artworks. I'm a self-taught designer with an engineering mindset. It means I love to know HOW do things work and WHY they work in such a way. My inspiration primarily comes from traveling and seeing natural landscapes, lovely flowers, and other plants, cute animals and birds. I love to visit parks and botanical gardens to get inspiration as well. Sunny days give me more energy to create.
