I’ve always had a love for nature ever since I was very young. I grew up in a small town in western Oklahoma and had seen many storms roll through and I always would feel the power of the thunderstorms and marvel at the colors on display. I also spent a lot of time in the Rockies of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and fell in love with western landscapes and the whole idea of the American West. I couldn’t get enough of the open spaces, the changing landscapes with the weather and the mountain vistas. I started chasing thunderstorms in 1998 and over the years had seen many beautiful displays of nature but hadn’t much to show for it. I had purchased a small digital camera to take pictures but when I got home the photos never did justice to what I had seen or felt when I was out. This is where my passion for photography began. After developing my skills and investing in equipment I set out to capture the beauty of the world in a way that everyone could see and feel what I was experiencing in the moment. I had traveled thousands of miles, seen some of the best displays nature had to offer and now I had an avenue in which I could capture these moments in time and enjoy them, and share with others. Now, I am the owner of Southernplainsphotography.com. My work has been used on set for the TV show Criminal Minds, featured in NatGeo Online, appeared on CNN and ABC News, and I am a featured photographer for the Oklahoma travel and nature website Oklavision. My photography has sold across the United States, and is hanging on the wall of homes and offices in Canada, Great Britain, France, Italy, Australia and Singapore. My shop is continually growing so check back often for new and exciting images that nature has given me the chance to capture. Sean Ramsey joined Society6 on August 14, 2015
