Lisa Brown Gallery

Lisa Brown was a Toronto-born, Paris and Berlin-based artist who passed away tragically from cancer in 2001, at the age of 31.

Working in the frenetic creative atmosphere of Berlin in the late 90s, Lisa's signature drawing and painting style borrowed from Modernist, Pop and street art influences, while at once being a reflection of her own personal style and outlook: colourful, optimistic, and open-minded.

In her short 31 years, her insatiable appetite to create produced a prolific body of work, including a large mural on the Berlin wall at Potsdamer Platz. Her surviving work has been lovingly preserved and documented by her family through the creation of the Lisa Brown Gallery. Her legacy also lives on through the Lisa Brown Memorial Grant, awarded each year to an Ontario College of Art and Design student wishing to study abroad.
