Martha Pennington

My name is Martha Pennington. I have loved art ever since I can remember. Spent my youth drawing fan art of anime and Disney characters. At that point in my life I was just playing and drawing things I liked. Once I reached high school I had decided that I wanted to be an artist, but to be honest I had no idea how to do that. In 2007,After high school I started college at a local community college, where I earned a Associates of Liberal Art. I decided that once i earned that degree, school just wasn't a feasible option because of the cost.

After that I stop focusing on my art and i moved around a lot. I had children and I even got married. I was very emotionally and psychically unstable. In 2016 I came back to my art and trying to grow a business, but a lot of things happened between 2016 and Early 2018. Now that my life has settled down I am now seriously focusing on growing my art skill and business.

My art is the visual expression of whats in my heart in mental. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar I and PTSD. Mental illness is the hardest thing a person can deal with and the journey to emotional stability is long and sometimes painful. With my art I want to show those who don't have mental illness what its like. I want those that do have mental illness to relate and maybe even letting go of their trauma and triggers by seeing it displayed. I want them to know they are not alone.
