Description
Two large hemispheres dominate this antique cartographic composition, rendered in cream, ochre, and soft earth tones with hand-colored details in red and green, surrounded by smaller celestial charts and geographic diagrams in the corners. The entire layout is framed in warm gold leaf and borders, creating an ornate, scholarly aesthetic that captures the wonder of early modern mapmaking with precise line work and weathered patina throughout. At home in a study, library, or anywhere history and geography spark curiosity. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
