Description
A mounted military commander leads troops across a verdant landscape in this 18th-century tapestry depicting the Capture of Lille, with a fortified city rising in the distance beneath stormy skies. Ornate floral borders in deep reds and golds frame the central scene, while hand-colored engraving techniques render the figures and architecture in warm ochres, greens, and pale blues. At home in a formal study, library, or period-inspired gallery space. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
