Description
Two delicate rosefinches perch among sparse, leafless branches rendered in soft graphite against a warm cream ground. The upper bird displays warm brown and rose tones while the lower bird shows darker plumage with a distinctive red breast, both captured with ornithological precision and gentle hand-coloring typical of 19th-century natural history illustration. In a naturalist's study, a gallery devoted to botanical and zoological art, or a space celebrating Victorian-era scientific illustration. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
