A checkerboard grid of alternating black and burnt orange squares fills the composition, each cell stamped with contrasting botanical and abstract silhouettes that range from delicate ferns to geometric suns and organic shapes. The weathered, block-print texture creates a folk-art energy, as if each square were individually carved and pressed, layering pattern upon pattern in a rhythmic, earthy rhythm. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
