An 18th-century portrait of a young woman with pale skin and softly styled hair, rendered in muted grays and blues, is overlaid with large white handwritten lettering reading "C'EST LA FUCKING VIE" that spans the composition. The juxtaposition of classical refinement and contemporary profanity creates an irreverent, darkly humorous artwork that subverts the dignity of historical portraiture. At home in a creative space or contemporary living room with edge. Printed to order directly onto lightweight aluminum with a high-gloss finish that makes color and detail pop and resists fading over time. A wood backing floats it about three-quarters of an inch off the wall and holds the wire or sawtooth hanger. Available from mini to large, it is original art with a modern, durable edge, not a quick print off a shelf.
