Description

Oak and fig leaves in earthy olive and sage tones cluster densely across a cream ground, their organic silhouettes scattered in a natural rhythm punctuated by small mauve figs. The composition suggests an intimate botanical study with a gentle, rhythmic quality that evokes the quiet abundance of a Mediterranean orchard. At home in a kitchen, dining room, or any space celebrating natural abundance and harvest seasons. Woven from soft polyester chenille with a non-slip backing and made to order, the artwork running across the surface. A room grounded underfoot by an independent artist's work.

Hi, I'm Cecilia, a Sydney-based surface designer and artist with a background in fine arts. My work is inspired by the Golden Age of Illustration, ancient Chinese and Japanese textiles and historical European Chinoiserie, Mid-Century Modern, and contemporary Australian symbolic painters. I am drawn to themes of wonder, storytelling and the beauty of the natural world. I love to explore rich colour palettes, a sense of movement and flow, and decorative illustration.
