A swaddled infant rests in an ornately decorated cradle, rendered in Klimt's signature maximalist style with sumptuous patterns of gold, jewel tones, and intricate ornamental details enveloping the composition. The figure's pale, delicate face emerges from layers of rich blues, greens, yellows, and decorative flourishes that create an almost dreamlike sanctuary of pattern and color around the vulnerable subject.
