Five lunar phases are arranged vertically in grayscale, progressing from a thin crescent through waxing and full moon to waning crescent, rendered in soft watercolor with delicate gradations of black and gray. The composition is centered and meditative, with each celestial body slightly varied in detail and tone against a clean white ground.
