Description

Two figures in 19th-century dress sit close together against a dark background, their pale faces and white collars luminous and expressive. The composition uses warm ochres and cool blues in the clothing to create depth, while the shadowed backdrop emphasizes the intimacy of the moment and the psychological intensity in their gazes.
