Description

Fragmented archival photographs of figures in motion are layered across horizontal bands of cream, teal, and blue, with bold orange stars scattered throughout the composition as dynamic punctuation. Large tan lettering reading "NEVER SEEMS TO BE ENOUGH TIME" floats across the upper portion, anchoring the piece's exploration of movement, urgency, and the fleeting nature of joy. A little about me: I'm from the sweet, sweet state of Louisiana, I recreated Starry Night at age 5 in crayon and my parents haven't let me forget it since, and I'm obsessed with everything 60s, eclectic, and nostalgic. However, despite this obsession with the styles of a bygone era, I like to hold tight to the simple, boldly expressive, and vibrant aspects of the present. I adore art that successfully blends the world of the past with the new possibilities of the present. In short, my work is inspired by life in its simplest form: Bright and dark colors for the good times and bad, an underlying simplicity, and an affection for the past with an eye on the future.
