Five silvery sardines are arranged in a vertical stack against a soft white ground, each rendered in delicate watercolor with subtle gradations of gray-blue, pale yellow, and cream that capture their natural iridescence. The artist has painted them with naturalistic precision, depicting their distinctive eye, fin detail, and slender bodies in a calm, observational style that feels both scientific and serene.
