Japanese characters appear at the left, while the composition layers the shark's fierce visage against dynamic water patterns and a serene rising sun, creating dark humor through the collision of traditional ukiyo-e aesthetics with contemporary subject matter. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily.
