Description
A manatee floats in shallow water, half-submerged with its massive body rendered in soft grays and blacks against pale sandy ground and luminous turquoise water. Palm trees and wetland vegetation line the distant shore in gentle greens and blues, while the artist's watercolor technique captures both the animal's weight and the water's translucent quality with delicate, layered washes. At home in a naturalist's study or a coastal retreat inspired by wildlife and wild places. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
