Description
A hand-colored cartographic map of Michigan displays the state's geological formations through layered regions of pink, blue, yellow, and green, bordered by a decorative frame with a legend and detailed topographical markings. The composition balances scientific precision with warm, aged paper tones, creating an intricate portrait of 19th-century geological understanding rendered in the careful linework of vintage surveying craft. For a study, library, or anywhere history and geography inspire curiosity. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
