A single white peony with layered, textured petals rendered in fine pen lines unfolds against a deep black background, its delicate stem extending downward with precise detail. The botanical illustration employs cross-hatching and linear mark-making to create dimensional form, capturing both the flower's voluminous structure and the quietness of a high-contrast monochromatic study. At home in a gallery wall, a minimalist bedroom, or beside a naturalist's desk. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
