Sean Shapiro is an avid photographer currently based in New York City. He loves street photography and has a passion for capturing the humor and beauty in everyday life that sometimes go unnoticed. He also keeps busy with event photography and freelances for Time Out New York. Sean's clients include New York University, Penn State University, Discovery Times Square, NYC Ties, and TRUE Model Management. Recently, Sean self-published a photo book on the devastation and rebuilding effort of New York City in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. The book was selected as a Staff Pick by Kickstarter.

Sean's images have been published on BuzzFeed.com, TimeOut.com, the back cover of Penn Stater Magazine, and Metro Newspaper's three US editions in New York, Philadelphia, and Boston. His work has also been featured in the New York Photo Festival's "Devastation, Document, Drive" exhibition at powerHouse Arena, an exhibition at the Soho Gallery for Digital Art, and is currently on display at City Swiggers Beer Shop and Tasting Room in Upper East Side. Recently, Sean was selected as a finalist for the 2013 Samsung/Time Out "Share Your Now" Photo Contest. Sean's photos have also been auctioned off at events held by buildOn and the Penn State NYC Alumni Chapter's Hope Gala​.
