I reproduce things from my past by balancing inherent imprecision with attempts at order, similar to the way memory reproduces events in a naturally flawed, personal way. Sometimes I erase the identities in family photos, fragmenting them like I remember these ghosts. Sometimes I pixelate pictures from magazines and kids textbooks. It represents the simplified way the past exists in my mind. It also represents the digital nature of contemporary life. And it represents the comfort I find in order. Sometimes I repeat these dinosaur skeletons over and over and sometimes I rely on patterns to represent the overwhelming nature of the things I've seen.
