Kay Lyon

Kay Lyon is a Sydney based visual artist working with ink, charcoal, oil paints, collage and installation works. She came to an art career later in life starting her Bachelor in Fine Arts at 45 and her Masters of Fine Art at 60. Kay's work is always topical - celebrating and commenting on a range of subjects - from modern medicine to the inherent symbolism of the female experience. Her latest body of works focuses on the environmental impact that industry and poor regulation has had on the George's River - her home for over forty years. Once thriving with oyster farms; these are now permanently closed due to pollution.

Now in her late seventies, she continues to find joy and inspiration in deeply understanding and researching a topic, and telling visual stories across mediums.
