Description
Four coiled and curling snakes rendered in naturalistic detail occupy this cream-colored composition, each snake displaying distinct patterns and scales in browns, golds, and muted earth tones. The serpents twist and loop in different configurations across the vertical format, executed in the precise scientific illustration style of 18th-century naturalism. In a naturalist's study, a curiosity cabinet, or a space celebrating scientific history. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
