Description
A delicate paper nautilus floats against a cream background, its translucent shell rendered in warm browns and soft blues with intricate cross-hatching and fine line work. Smaller anatomical studies appear in the corners, documenting details of this remarkable cephalopod in the meticulous style of 18th-century natural history illustration. At home in a naturalist's study, a library, or anywhere curiosity about the natural world is cherished. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
