Description
A black and white bird with spotted plumage and an elongated forked tail stands in profile on pale ground, rendered in delicate line work and stippling that captures both the creature's refined anatomy and alert posture. The cream-colored paper and muted palette convey the precision and elegance of natural history illustration from the nineteenth century. At home in a naturalist's study or a cabinet of curiosities. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
