Description
A great barbet perches in profile against a cream ground, its plumage rendered in rich jewel tones of emerald, bronze, and crimson with a striking black head and golden eye. The bird is depicted with meticulous ornithological precision, its form naturalistic yet gracefully composed, while delicate graphite sketches of feet and anatomical details anchor the composition with scientific authority. At home in a naturalist's study, a cabinet of curiosities, or any room that treasures natural history. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
