Description
A scarlet minivet perches on a delicate flowering branch, its black head and back contrasting sharply with brilliant red and orange plumage on its wings and tail. Rendered in hand-colored lithography with fine naturalistic detail, the bird is set against a pale cream ground with spare botanical linework that emphasizes its jewel-toned presence. At home in a naturalist's study or alongside other ornithological collections. Made to order by hand at our own Denver facility, it arrives as nine wood panels, each a half-inch thick with a keyhole on the back so it hangs easily. The natural grain shows through the artwork, so no two come out exactly alike.
